Mettler Seraflex
Mettler SERAFLEX® is the stretch thread specialist — engineered specifically for sewing knit fabrics and stretch garments on a standard home sewing machine, without needing a serger or zigzag stitch. Its innovative PTT (polytrimethylene terephthalate) composition, containing 37% renewable raw material, allows the thread to stretch up to 65% along the seam — delivering double the seam elasticity of conventional sewing thread.
The result: a straight stitch that moves with your fabric. SERAFLEX® is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, meaning every component has been independently tested and confirmed free from harmful substances.

How to use SERAFLEX®
- Use SERAFLEX® in both the needle and the bobbin
- Wind the bobbin with as little tension as possible to prevent pre-stretching the thread
- Set needle thread tension to as loose as possible — always test on a scrap first
- Sew with a straight stitch only — no zigzag or stretch stitch needed
Currently available in Black, Caramel Cream, Chocolate, Navy, Oat Flakes, Silver Coin, and White, with additional colours being added. All colours are the same 142yd spool — sold individually.
