✈️ Pre-order — expected 6 November. This fabric is on its way to us. Order now to reserve your yardage; we cut and ship pre-orders in the order they were placed, as soon as it lands.

Designed by independent studio Atelier 27, this cotton satin carries the Hector print — fine olive pinstripes running the length of the cloth, with small sprigs of blue, dusty-rose and tan flowers scattered across them on an ivory ground. It reads as a stripe from across the room and as a floral up close, which is what makes it wearable well beyond spring.

Cotton satin is woven, not finished, for its softness: the sateen weave floats the yarn on the surface so the cloth has a quiet luster and a fluid, cool hand while staying wholly cotton. Carefully produced with attention to fiber and weave, this lightweight cotton satin offers a comfortable hand while retaining enough body for clean finishes. Its smooth texture and refined appearance make it suitable for both everyday garments and polished pieces. At 80 g/m² it is genuinely light — this is blouse and pajama weight, not shirting — and it presses to a crisp edge without going stiff.

This is a Limited Edition design — produced in a single small run and never reprinted once sold out. When this fabric is gone, it is gone for good.

🪡 Sewing Tips

Pre-wash before cutting — Atelier 27 recommend washing all their fabric before sewing, and cotton will move on the first wash. Use a fine universal or microtex needle (70/10–80/12) with a shorter stitch length; at this weight a heavy needle leaves visible holes. The pinstripe runs along the grain, so cut all pieces in the same direction and match it at the side seams and center front the way you would any stripe. French seams suit it well.

🧺 Care Instructions

Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle, inside out. Always pre-wash before cutting.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

When will my order ship?

This is a pre-order. The fabric is expected to reach us by 6 November, and we cut and ship pre-orders in the order they were placed as soon as it arrives. If you order other items at the same time, the whole order ships together once the fabric is here — place a separate order if you need the rest sooner.

What can I sew with this fabric?

Blouses, shirts, soft pajamas and nightdresses, children's clothing and small accessories. At 80 g/m² it is light and fluid — lovely for anything gathered or softly draped, but too fine for structured tailoring.

How much fabric do I need?

Fabric is sold by the half yard, cut in one continuous piece. A fitted top typically takes 2–3 half-yard units, a blouse or shirt 3–4, a skirt 3–4, and a midi dress 5–6 — order 4 units for 2 continuous yards. Allow a little extra if you want to match the pinstripe across seams.

Will it shrink?

Yes — it is 100% cotton, so expect some shrinkage on the first wash. Atelier 27 don't publish a percentage, so treat pre-washing before cutting as essential rather than optional, and wash the way you intend to wash the finished garment.

Is it see-through?

No — this cotton satin is opaque; unlined garments are fine.

What needle and thread should I use?

A fine universal or microtex needle (70/10–80/12) with all-purpose polyester or cotton thread, and a shorter stitch length; test on a scrap first.

Is it really limited edition?

Yes — Atelier 27 prints each design in a single small run and never reprints it. When our fabric sells out, this print is gone for good. We stock it here in the US, so there are no import shipping, tariff, or customs processing fees.
