Designed by independent studio Atelier 27, this jacquard fabric brings the timeless leopard into a woven structure — the spots are built into the cloth rather than printed on it, which gives the pattern real depth and a quiet sheen that shifts as the fabric moves.

At 160 g/m² it has body without weight: enough structure to hold a clean line, light enough for a summer blazer or a pair of easy trousers. There is no stretch, and the weave is dense and stable — makers consistently note that it barely frays, which makes it forgiving to cut and comfortable to sew.

This is a Limited Edition design — produced in a single small run in France and never reprinted once sold out. When this fabric is gone, it is gone for good.

🪡 Sewing Tips

Pre-wash before cutting — Atelier 27 recommends washing all their fabric before sewing. Use a universal needle (80/12–90/14) with all-purpose polyester thread. The weave is dense and resists fraying, but finish your seams on anything you plan to wear hard. Press on the reverse with a pressing cloth to protect the surface sheen, and cut all pieces with the leopard running the same direction.

When will my order ship?

This is a pre-order. The fabric is expected to reach us by 9 October, and we cut and ship pre-orders in the order they were placed as soon as it arrives. If you order other items at the same time, the whole order ships together once the fabric is here — place a separate order if you need the rest sooner.

What can I sew with this fabric?

Blazers, cropped jackets, skirts, shorts, lightweight trousers and dresses. At 160 g/m² it is on the lighter side for a jacquard, so it holds shape without the bulk of a heavier suiting.

How much fabric do I need?

Fabric is sold by the half yard, cut in one continuous piece. A fitted top typically takes 2–3 half-yard units, a blouse or shirt 3–4, a skirt 3–4, and a midi dress 5–6 — order 4 units for 2 continuous yards.

Will it shrink?

A little. The polyester majority keeps movement minimal, but at 27% cotton there is enough natural fibre to relax on the first wash. Atelier 27 recommends pre-washing all their fabric before sewing, and we agree — wash before cutting so your finished garment keeps the fit you expect.

Is it see-through?

No — this is an opaque jacquard; unlined garments are fine.

What needle and thread should I use?

A universal needle (80/12–90/14) with all-purpose polyester thread; test on a scrap first.

Is it really limited edition?

Yes — Atelier 27 prints each design in a single small run in France and never reprints it. When our fabric sells out, this print is gone for good. We stock it here in the US, so there are no import shipping, tariff, or customs processing fees.
