The Positive Space Jacket is THE answer to “I have nothing to wear” for a fancy evening out or a big day at the office.
The jacket's neckline, raglan sleeve and front shaping frame the face beautifully. The statement collar is a canvas for quilting or embroidery fabulousness. Bracelet-length sleeves show off a watch or bangle. A special button makes the perfect closure. Plus pockets? Of course!
The Positive Space Jacket works best with woven fabrics that have a stiffer or crisper hand, such as brocades, damasks and satins, silk dupioni or shantung. It also works well with lighter upholstery fabrics or wool suitings with a firm hand.
For warm-weather wear, choose the collarless, unlined version. For light outerwear or for a dressier project, try the lined collared version. Make the collar out of the same fabric or go lighter or heavier. Or make the jacket out of a plain fabric and splurge for a collar out of pretty but expensive fabric - the collar only takes half a yard or meter.
The pattern package includes all 11 sizes of the pattern, printed in black ink on two folded sheets of sturdy paper, not tissue. The package also includes a black-and-white stapled paper instruction booklet and a full-color paper quick start guide with fashion illustrations, technical drawings, size charts and a list of materials to sew the pattern. The size charts list body measurements and finished pattern measurements. The quick start guide also provides a description of the pattern and an explanation of Style Falcon's cut and fit. All measurements and instructions are provided in Imperial and metric units.
The entire package measures 8.5 by 5.5 inches (21.5 cm by 14 cm). It is bundled into a clear zip-top plastic bag, with a margin of ½ inch (13 mm) at the top for hanging if desired.
