❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What can I sew with this fabric?
Overshirts, shackets, jackets, trousers, skirts, and structured dresses — plus dungarees, shorts, bags, and accessories. The fine rib and plush surface give simple patterns real depth.
How much fabric do I need for a dress or blouse?
Fabric is sold by the half yard, cut in one continuous piece. Corduroy has a nap, so cut all pieces in the same direction and allow a little extra: a skirt typically takes 3–4 half-yard units, trousers or an overshirt 5–7.
Will it shrink?
Slightly — around 2% on the first wash. Pre-wash before cutting and machine wash cold.
Is it see-through?
No — at 320 g/m² it is opaque; unlined garments are fine.
What needle and thread should I use?
A universal or jeans needle (90/14) with all-purpose polyester thread. Sew with the nap running the same direction; a walking foot helps on thick seams.
Is it really limited edition?
Yes — Atelier 27 prints each design in a single small run in France and never reprints it. When our bolt sells out, this print is gone for good. We stock it here in the US, so there are no import shipping, tariff, or customs processing fees.
