Polyester Crepe Fabric – Alessia Limited Edition | Atelier 27

$15.95 USD

Designed by independent studio Atelier 27, this polyester crepe features the Alessia floral print in a palette of ivory, plum, olive, and red. The crepe construction gives it a fine crepe texture, and it drapes fluidly with light stretch, allowing it to move easily with the body — making it ideal for tops, dresses, skirts, and other garments that benefit from movement.

The hand is soft with a fine crepe texture. It falls smoothly away from the body without clinging, offering fluid movement while the added elastane provides gentle flexibility. The fabric remains stable enough to handle during sewing while maintaining its fluid drape.

This is a Limited Edition design — produced in a single small run in France and never reprinted once sold out. When this bolt is gone, it is gone for good.

Best uses: Blouses, dresses, skirts, and flowing trousers year-round.

Care: Machine wash cold, inside out, gentle cycle; hang dry, do not tumble dry or dry clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I sew with this fabric?

Blouses, dresses, skirts, and flowing trousers, year-round. The slight stretch adds comfort to fitted styles.

How much fabric do I need for a dress or blouse?

Fabric is sold by the half yard, cut in one continuous piece. A fitted top typically takes 2–3 half-yard units, a blouse or shirt 3–4, and a midi dress 5–6 — order 4 units for 2 continuous yards.

Will it shrink?

No — polyester is a synthetic, heat-set fiber with negligible shrinkage; pre-wash before cutting is still recommended since the hand/texture can relax slightly.

Is it see-through?

No — at 130 g/m² it is opaque; unlined garments are fine.

What needle and thread should I use?

A fine microtex needle (70/10) with all-purpose polyester thread; a slight zigzag or stretch stitch accommodates the 2% elastane.

Is it really limited edition?

Yes — Atelier 27 prints each design in a single small run in France and never reprints it. When our bolt sells out, this print is gone for good. We stock it here in the US, so there are no import shipping, tariff, or customs processing fees.
